Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Financial Aid & Enrollment, this position serves
as a key functional and technical
resource supporting the administration, configuration, and ongoing optimization of financial aid systems.
The role provides primary
oversight of the Ellucian Banner Financial Aid module and related integrated systems, ensuring operational
accuracy, regulatory compliance,
and efficient data management across federal, state, and institutional programs.

For

for fully remote work.

Essential
Duties:


Financial Aid Systems Administration &
Operations

  • Administer and coordinate the Banner
    Financial Aid module, including system configuration, implementation,
    testing, documentation, and training
  • Coordinate annual
    aid-year setup processes, including roll procedures, parameter updates,
    table configuration, and system validation for regulatory compliance
  • Manage financial aid system operations, including electronic
    data loads, file transmissions, and data exchanges with the U.S.
    Department of Education, state agencies, and other external partners –
    Configure, test, run, and support automated and manual financial aid
    packaging processes within Banner, ensuring awarding methodologies
    align with institutional policy, federal regulations, and enrollment
    management objectives
  • Serve as the primary functional
    subject matter expert for Banner Financial Aid and related ERP platforms, supporting system functionality, optimization, and compliance

Systems
Maintenance, Compliance & Integration


  • Monitor, research, and implement system updates,
    including Banner releases,
    regulatory changes, patches, and enhancements
  • Collaborate with Information Technology on system
    integrations, job scheduling,
    automation workflows, and enterprise process improvements
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues in
    partnership with IT staff and
    external vendors to ensure continuity of operations
  • Maintain data integrity across financial aid
    systems, identifying
    discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional
    financial aid
    regulations through system configuration and operational controls

Reporting, Documentation & Audit
Support

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute operational, management, and compliance reports using Banner, Argos, and related
    reporting tools
  • Support internal audits, program reviews, reconciliations, and compliance monitoring activities
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, procedural guides, and updates to the Financial Aid Policy and Procedure Manual

Additional Skills Required:


  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency with technological skills required for performance
    of general and program specific duties used for the administration of financial aid
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency of
    federal, state and institutional aid programs, including compliance and regulations through participation in training seminars, webinars and
    attendance at conferences
  • Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) proficiency
  • Knowledge and ability
    with large data base systems, e.g. Banner Sevis
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must maintain highest levels of
    accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • The ability to multi-task in a
    fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of common office procedures including telephone etiquette
  • The ability to uphold human
    dignity and respect by recognizing each persons worth, valuing diverse perspectives, and treating others with kindness, fairness, and
    empathy
  • Must be able to respect, support and contribute to the Universitys Catholic and Jesuit mission

Minimum
Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required

Preferred
Education:


  • Masters degree preferred

Minimum Job Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3)
    years of relevant experience
  • Experience with
    Ellucian Banner or comparable higher education ERP
  • Demonstrated experience with system configuration, troubleshooting, and
    process automation
  • Ability to manage multiple
    priorities in a complex regulatory and technical environment

Preferred
Qualifications:


  • Experience with
    Ellucian Banner Financial Aid
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and
    institutional financial aid regulations and processes
  • Experience with data reporting tools (e.g., Argos, SQL, or equivalent
    reporting platforms)
