Position Summary


Delaware County Community College is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant in our Assessment department.

The Instructional Assistant administers and monitors assessments for students and community members to include testing for college placement, entrance to and evaluation for nursing and allied health programs, ACT, CLEP, Praxis, and Pearson-Vue. The position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and alternate Saturdays, a current driver’s license, and an insured vehicle to travel to and administer the College placement test at the Marple Campus and branch locations. Travel to high schools in Chester County to administer testing is required when needed. The Instructional Assistant administers and monitors additional assessments for students and community members. Other testing services include make-up tests for classes, special accommodation testing, online and hybrid learning exams, certifications for credit and non-credit classes, and testing for other colleges and institutions.



Essential Functions

Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to: –


  • Travel to the branch campuses to administer testing.
  • Travel to high schools in Chester County to administer the placement test for the Dual Enrollment Program as needed.
  • Administer and monitor assessments for students and community members at the Marple Campus and other Delaware County campus sites including proctored exams, entrance to and evaluation for nursing and allied health programs, ACT, CLEP, Praxis and Pearson-Vue testing.
  • Facilitate testing needs and ensure that processes are followed to maintain a high standard of academic integrity.
  • Obtain and maintain certification to administer CLEP, Praxis, Pearson-Vue, and other computer based testing as required.
  • Proctor exams for students who have been approved for special accommodations by the Office of Disability Services.
  • Proctor tests at Late Registration.
  • Schedule new students at placement testing for a college planning session.
  • Record data of attendance in SARS for all tests administered.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Assessment Services, or the Testing Coordinator.

Experience & Education

The ideal candidate


  • Current driver’s license and insured vehicle for travel
  • Flexible schedule for day and evening testing
  • Associate Degree or prior test administration and proctor experience
  • Ability to be certified to administer Pearson Vue, Praxis, and other assessments
  • Proficient computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet browsers.
