Athletics Business and Fiscal Operations Coordinator at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job
duties):
Job Purpose
Coordinate and provide support to the Wayne State University Athletics
Department in the day-to-day workflows and business processes needed to support various business functions, athletic and rental facilities,
and sport specific activities. In addition, provide support by applying financial, budgeting, and athletic business operations principles to
support effective resource allocation and decision-making. This position reports to the Associate Director, Business Affairs –
Athletics.
Essential Functions
Coordinate and provide support in the planning, development, and
implementation of various athletic operation initiatives, facility rentals, and projects. Work with internal and external vendors, invoicing
and contracting; process operational purchases and monitor operational budget; coordinate with coaches and sport coordinators on
availability and delivery of equipment and supplies. Assist with analyzing operational spending patterns and supporting financial reporting
processes related to NCAA Agreed Upon Procedures, athletic operations, and facility usage.
Provide support with budget management and
business operations functions including ticket sales, merchandise, camps, and team travel ensuring compliance with university, NCAA, and
conference policies. Serve as resource and contact for business operations functions with an emphasis on compliance and financial controls.
Support revenue tracking and financial performance analysis related to ticket sales, merchandise, and travel expenditures.
Assist in
coordination of weekly competitions, NCAA post-season and conference championship events, processing of NCAA & conference officials, game
guarantees, hosting activities, etc. Additionally, assist in expenditure analysis and forecasting activities to ensure alignment with sport
specific goals and cost-efficiency.
Coordinate and process personnel transactions of part-time hourly employees for various athletic
activities including competitions, events, and facility rentals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s
degree.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Sports Management, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
Experienced
(minimum 2 years of job-related experience).
Experience supporting administrative and business operations
processes.
Experience utilizing various financial management systems and platforms.
Previous experience in athletic
administration or coordination preferred.
Knowledge of WSU administrative systems preferred.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and
regulations, with previous experience in collegiate athletics preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities
Technological Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Docs.
Familiarity with, or ability to learn, University technology/administrative systems.
Knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and
reporting principles and the ability to use finance-related decision support skills with a focus on compliance and financial
controls.
