Posting Description

ADMINISTRATIVE
ASSISTANT 2,
 School of Engineering, to perform complex and diverse administrative support for Associate Dean of
Engineering Education using a high degree of resourcefulness to research and resolve complex problems, exercise independent judgment, and
anticipate needs. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings and appointments; arranging local, domestic, and international travel;
preparing correspondence; responding to inquiries; maintaining records and electronic filing systems; coordinating mailings; and supporting
efficient office operations. Will help plan events by liaising with vendors, reserving rooms, managing invitations, and coordinating
logistics. Will also support the Summer Geometry Initiative, a six-week research program introducing students to geometry processing through
collaborative, hands-on work, by assisting with admissions, faculty coordination, student communications, activity sign-ups, group
assignments, and program engagement. Additional duties include editing materials, creating presentations, processing purchase orders, credit
card charges, payment requests, and travel vouchers, monitoring accounts, reconciling statements, resolving discrepancies, and serving as a
resource on MIT processes.



This position is part-time (hybrid), 20 hours per week. 

Job Requirements



REQUIRED:
Minimum of three years of direct or related experience in a professional administrative support position; excellent organizational,
interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; ability to interact with a diverse group of staff, students, and visitors; tact, good
judgment, and discretion when handling confidential information; solid organizational and strong problem-solving skills; attention to
detail; ability to take initiative, and work both independently and within a team; ability to successfully balance and prioritize workload
and adhere to deadlines; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Slack, and Adobe Acrobat.  Experience at MIT or other
university experience is desirable.  Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.  Knowledge of AI tools is a plus.
