ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
The Robotics
Program Director is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the creation and fulfillment of educational goals and objectives
related to Robotics degree and certificate programs. Responsibilities require curriculum development and delivering instruction, academic
and administration, cultivating industry relationships, development of the program’s physical location and instructional space, evaluating
program outcomes, developing and implementing the program budget, and serving a key leader in the program’s marketing and recruitment
plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create and maintain meaningful, beneficial relationships with industry
representatives, including advisory board members, internship supervisors, and prospective employers. - Create, assess, and
maintain a high-quality curriculum with appropriately rigorous learning objectives. - Build course schedule to meet curricular
needs of the program. - Identify appropriate course resources, including textbooks.
- Instruct students within area of
content expertise and carry out all duties of an instructor at Lackawanna College. - Cultivate financial and equipment donations to
support the program. - Take a lead role in creating and implementing a marketing and recruitment plan to attract students from
nontraditional and traditional sectors. - Recruit and hire instructors and additional staff as supported by program
enrollment. - Represent the College in professional organizations and events.
- Build and promote ongoing corporate
training opportunities to meet the needs of national industry partners. - Prepare students for success in program progression
(including, but not limited to advising) and obtaining employment upon program completion. - Assess program outcomes,
including student learning outcomes, enrollment, retention, and graduation rates, and implement appropriate measures for continuous
improvement. - Lead the process to secure and maintain ARM endorsement.
- Participate in Division and College meetings
as required. - Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure that related initiatives are coordinated.
- Participate in Lackawanna College professional development opportunities, including CTL and adjunct professional development training.
- Other duties as assigned.

periodically may be required.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of an associate degree in a related field of expertise (at least 18 college
credits completed in Robotics or a related field) – college transcript or degree completion verification required. - Minimum of
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of five years experience in the Robotics industry
or related field.
