Salary Range



$45,178.00.00 depending on qualifications


Essential Functions

The Maintenance Worker III, Painter performs
skilled painting, surface preparation, repair, and general maintenance work in support of campus facilities and Physical Plant operations.
This position routinely paints walls, floors, ceilings, metal doors, and frames, and performs related work such as drywall patching,
texturing, staining wood, estimating time and materials, and completing assigned special projects. The role may also assist with general
maintenance work involving carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems as needed. This position
supports campus operations through regular maintenance, urgent repairs, on call response, emergency response activities, and weather related
support when assigned.



1. Perform painting work on walls, floors, ceilings, metal doors, frames, and other assigned surfaces.
2.
Prepare surfaces for painting, staining, repair, or finishing work.
3. Perform drywall patching, texturing, wood staining, and related
surface repair work.
4. Estimate time and materials needed to complete assigned painting, repair, or maintenance projects.
5. Assist
with general maintenance duties involving carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems as
assigned.
6. Perform related maintenance duties and special projects as assigned by the department director.
7. Complete urgent or
emergency repairs during assigned on call periods and return to campus when needed during those periods.
8. Participate as part of the
emergency response team when assigned.
9. Provide snow and ice removal support when necessary.
10. Perform duties outside of a
specific licensed trade when assigned and appropriate to the needs of the department.

Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Three (3) years of experience performing
installation, operation, construction, maintenance, or repair work in a field related to the work performed.
3. Equivalent combination of
relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.



Preferred Qualifications
1. Vocational training or
completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
2. More than Five (5) years of experience as a journey level craft worker.

Schedule

Generally, the normal
work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual
holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may
differ with some departments.



Standard Working Conditions



1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds
on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to
continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties
including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include
extensive wrist and hand movement.
6. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and
occupation
