Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant II provides non-routine clerical/administrative support which may include drafting/typing correspondence, reports, charts, graphs, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software. This position will be responsible for basic bookkeeping, screening calls/visitors, preparing agendas, and managing supervisor’s or department’s calendar.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks
- Copying, scanning, faxing, printing, filing, organizing.
- Take phone calls, assist patients, compose e-mails and other written communication.
- Assist in compiling/maintaining documents for various reporting events.
- Assist with other general office duties as needed.
- Schedule Radiology Appointments
- Ensure Authorizations are obtained
- Input outside Provider Orders
- Distribution of Radiology Report
- Contract Administration
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) years of related work experience.
- May accept a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in field closely related to the specific endeavor of the department.
- One (1) or more years of clerical experience.
- Database experience.
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understanding of operating standard office equipment.
- Strong ability to multi-task and work with many interruptions.
- Ability to adapt to a changing Environment.
- Ethical.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
