Assistant Director, Bridge and Supplemental Instruction

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the Bridge to Clemson transfer pathway program by coordinating and delivering academic advising, orientation, and academic support services that promote student success and a successful transition to Clemson University. Provides functional oversight of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program and collaborates with campus and partnerâEUR’institution stakeholders to support student engagement, persistence, and academic progress. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:

50% – Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program Coordination: Coordinates and provides dayâEUR’toâEUR’day oversight of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and functional supervision of graduate and undergraduate staff. Develops and implements marketing and outreach efforts to promote SI participation among new students. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with faculty and TriâEUR’County Technical College (TCTC) Learning Commons staff. Conducts semesterâEUR’based program assessments to evaluate effectiveness and support continuous improvement and program growth. 40% – Bridge Academic Advising and Student Support: Assists in the design, delivery, marketing, and assessment of Bridge academic advising programs and services. Provides oneâEUR’toâEUR’one academic advising to Bridge to Clemson students at TriâEUR’County Technical College and on the Clemson University campus. Coordinates advising activities and communications in collaboration with the Director and supports the development and annual revision of advising publications. Assists with Bridge information sessions, orientation, recruitment, onboarding, convocation, and related program initiatives. 10% – Transfer Programs Collaboration and Student Engagement: Collaborates with Transfer Programs staff to support the development and delivery of targeted programs, services, and communications that promote engagement, academic success, and retention for new transfer students. Assists with program implementation and assessment efforts and contributes to crossâEUR’unit initiatives designed to enhance the transfer student experience.

Minimum Requirements:


A bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs.

Preferred Requirements:


  • A master’s degree in Education, Management, Communication, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES



Doesn’t provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may manage fund allocation between $100,000.00 – $500,000.00

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:


  • Expected Salary Range
  • $49,000.00 – $51,000.00

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:


Normal Operations – Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
