Description
Reporting to the department chairperson, this is a temporary part-time position coordinating operations in the Department of Humanities and Media Studies at Pratt Institute.
Examples of Duties
Duties include:
- answering inquiries from students, faculty, and others
- ordering and distributing supplies
- handling communications in-person, on the telephone, and electronically
- assisting with event planning, preparation, and execution
- supporting the department’s websites and social media accounts
- supervising student assistants
- other duties as required
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years administrative experience, preferably in a higher education environment.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent computer skills
- Superior interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work well with diverse populations and demonstrated level of cultural competence
