About the Opportunity


Job Summary

The Applications Programmer will aid in the development of interactive cognitive assessments and training programs that are primarily targeted toward understanding and improving cognition. Under direct supervision applies professional software concepts and procedures to small projects or portions of projects. Resolves routine programming problems. Works on assigned issues and projects. Follows standard programming procedures to analyze situations and data to solve problems and assist with design issues.

Performs basic design, development, modification and debugging of software, assisting with varied aspects of the implementation of research-related cognitive assessments from design and development to maintenance and support. Works to formulate logic for basic systems, prepares basic specifications and performs coding. Utilizes an understanding of game development, design, development using C#, familiarity with Unity 3D, database and network programming. Operates as a contributing member of programming teams and collaborates in a multi-disciplinary environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Game Development for Brain Training Games: Performs tasks including, programming, supports software management and distribution, team participation, coordinating with research activities, etc. Executes simple test plans, develops conversion and system implementation plans and implements unit tests. Applies the basics of source code control techniques and configuration management
  • Programs Interactive Cognitive Assessments. Applies knowledge relating to the design development, modification and implementation of software including object-oriented programming concepts. May assist with project coordination. Prepares system and programming documentation, works to software specifications and reports progress., communicating technical information to technical and non-technical constituents.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Knowledge and skills required to competently perform the job normally acquired through a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field and one to three years of academic or professional experience
  • Programming experience in C#, Unity
  • C# and/or C++ plus network programming experience
  • Experience with video game development
  • Software organization, management, version control experience

Expected Hiring Range:
$60,315.00 – $85,192.50


With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
