Range
: Up to $53,190 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

    Job Summary

    The Assistant Athletics Trainer provides specialized skills,
    management, leadership, and administration of the UTSA Athletic Medicine program. The position assists in the overall administrative duties
    of the department. The role is responsible for assisting with the organization, management, and administration of the Athletic Training
    Program as well as the supervision, treatment, and rehabilitation of the UTSA men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports programs in
    accordance with University and NCAA policies and philosophies.



    Core Responsibilities

    1. Provides athletic
      medicine services for team practices and competitions at home and on the road for primary sport assignments of men’s and women’s track and
      field and cross country.
    2. Assists in the overall administrative duties of the department.
    3. Provides prevention, treatment,
      and rehabilitation for injuries to student-athletes.
    4. Maintains medical records for all assigned student-athletes.
    5. Designs
      and implements pre-habilitation and post-injury rehabilitation for the student-athletes.
    6. Assists in the daily management of the
      training room, including maintenance and storage of supplies and equipment.
    7. Assists in organizing and administering of the athletic
      training facility.
    8. Provides computer records of athletic injuries, illnesses, and their treatments.
    9. Assists with issues
      concerning insurance.
    10. Ensures all assigned tasks comply with University, American Athletic Conference, and NCAA rules.
    11. Supervises other trainers.
    12. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required
    Qualifications


    • Master’s degree
    • Current on NATA Board Certification
    • Current State of Texas athletic
      training license or eligible to receive with 30 days of employment.
    • This position may require the ability to maintain the security
      and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

    Working Conditions


    • Possibility of working in dangerous conditions such as blood-borne
      pathogen-related areas. Possibility of working in inclement weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, rain, etc.).

    • Ability to engage in physically demanding manual tasks.


    This position will work primarily on
    campus
    . Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.




    This position is contingent upon a successful
    background check. Verification of a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants
