Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a BUSINESS OFFICER I to act as business and/or operations officer for a small to mid-size division, department or sub-division. Operating under minimal supervision, responsibilities may encompass financial, administrative, personnel, space and database management. Coordinates implementation of policies and procedures for the assigned areas of responsibility. Serves as financial/budget/grants management officer for assigned unit. Directs administrative operations of assigned unit and supervises support staff. May solicit funds and perform special projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Financial administration, oracle transactions, financial report analysis, coordinates and implements policies and procedures. Space and equipment inventory.
  • Building administrator, including oversight and management of room reservations system, building preparedness for events. Liaison to all facilities and event management department inside and outside of Collat. (Transportation, Central IT, UAB Physical Security / Police Department, Campus Maintenance and Building Services; Project Management, Campus Safety, Furniture Movers, Sustainability and Utilities, Maintain Contracts for equipment repairs for the school.) Coordinate with CSOB departments and with UAB HR on HR functions for school personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

(Annual Salary: $52,555 – $68,320)


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Accounting/budget and building management skills preferred.
