About the Position:
This role is an
on-campus, in-person position.
This position is a business systems analyst supporting the Human Capital Management (HR) system needs
of SMU. Provides functional, business support and maintenance for PeopleSoft/Oracle HCM v9.2 (base benefits, benefits administration,
ePerformance), Taleo for talent acquisition and recruiting and Vector for training compliance.
Functional support includes
application configuration, systems analysis, issue resolution, business process streamlining/re-engineering and backup support of PeopleSoft
Time and Labor. Provides query/report writing and integration support. Position also provides requirements for requested technical work and
testing of processes for updates or upgrades and sign-off on customizations. Supporting and maintaining Taleo recruiting and onboarding
processes, integrations, and related business workflows.
Essential Functions:

Configuration and
analysis of the supported systems in collaboration with the business units to ensure requirements are met with successful outcomes in the
most efficient and effective manner. Translate requirements to technical design, and work with OIT staff to implement requirements. Document
business process and any customizations through the use of flowcharting and business process documents. - Research, replicate, and
evaluate HCM end user system problems and issues. Manages PeopleSoft HR security requests and provides day to day HR operational system
support. -
Provides system testing for new implementations, upgrades and update/fix patches. Leads collaboration with business
units on business process support, including re-engineering, streamlining and adopting industry best practices. -
Backup
Benefits Administrator duties, daily processing, daily customer service problems/issues, passive event processing, payroll, time and labor
issues.

Supporting and maintaining Taleo recruiting, addressing integrations, issues and related business workflows.
Supporting Vector integration to PeopleSoft HCM. -
Project manage technology integrations and solutions at an enterprise
level.

Design system specifications and work with HR functional leads and OIT developers and staff to develop or modify
programs/reports. -
Use Peoplesoft Query, Oracle SQL, Unified Functional Testing and other tools to generate reports and
validate data and information for HR and other campus end users.

Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required during
system upgrades or when resolving critical issues.
Skills:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in in Computer/Management information systems, Computer Science.
A minimum of three
(3) years of work experience supporting Human Capital Management (HCM) systems in a functional or business analyst capacity is required.
Experience supporting PeopleSoft/Oracle, specifically Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, and ePerformance preferred.
Experience supporting an ATS, specifically Taleo, desired. Experience supporting training/compliance systems, such as Vector or similar LMS
platforms is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and
verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships
with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. A strong customer service orientation is
essential.
Candidate must be able to manage (plan, lead, organize, and control) multiple technical projects in a timely and
cost-effective manner. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Demonstrated experience in systems
maintenance (e.g. upgrades, patches) configuration, testing, and end-user support within an HRIS environment is essential.
Candidate
must have demonstrated ability with system troubleshooting, issue resolution, and root cause analysis. Must also be able to gather/document
business requirements and translate them into system configuration and solutions. A strong understanding of HR Business processes (benefits,
performance management, recruiting and compliance training) is essential.
Candidate must have experience with and a strong working
knowledge of PS Query, SQL and Oracle HCM. Must also have a strong working knowledge of MS Office. Familiarity with integration tools and
data interfaces (e.g., SFTP, API) is essential.
