Job Description:
The Department of Education and Counseling in the College of Education, Health, and Human Services
invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time faculty position (F0279) at the rank of Clinical Educator of Elementary Education.
This position is located in Martinsville, Virginia, and in-person work is required.
The successful candidate will teach 12 credit
hours per semester in the undergraduate elementary education and teaching program offered on our Martinsville campus. Courses are offered in
the evenings in hybrid format to meet the needs of post-traditional, adult learners. Additionally, the successful candidate will advise
students in the major, supervise students in clinical placements in the field, participate in program and monthly department meetings held
on the main campus in Farmville, contribute to elementary program curriculum and assessment work, and develop and maintain relationships
with Martinsville area schools.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in elementary education, curriculum and
instruction, or a closely related field is required. (Ph.D. or Ed.D. in elementary education, curriculum and instruction, or a closely
related field of study is preferred.) - Three or more years of successful teaching experience is required.
- Current
teaching license in Virginia (or the eligibility to obtain one) is required. - Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate
level is preferred.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track instructional faculty
position with responsibilities each fall and spring semester. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. A successful
fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged
