Job
Summary

Assists current and prospective
students, families, and the community by providing information on student services
processes including recruiting, admissions, enrollment,
financial aid, student accounts, and other similar topics. Assist the business
office, cross-campus departments, and non-credit functions in
supporting employees and students at the campus. Engage in district-wide
recruitment and enrollment activities and promotional events on and
off campus under the guidance of the Director of Recruitment and
Admissions.



Essential Functions

Under the guidance of
the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, conduct recruitment
and enrollment advising activities for traditional and non-traditional
students, visit high schools and business/industry, attend/host
fairs, schedule and conduct campus tours, and serve as a resource in the
development of promotional materials to recruit and retain
students. Advise prospective students in program information, transfer
requirements, articulation agreements, etc. Refer as necessary to
other academic departments and support services. Process course
registrations and DMACC forms. Work closely with admissions department staff
to monitor program capacity, assist in student admissions, and
monitor student admissions to DMACC.



Advise students and collaborate
with DMACC staff in various aspects of the financial aid
application and verification process. Discuss available financial aid programs and
initial eligibility requirements. Review financial aid
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeals for sufficient documentation and
Academic Improvement Plan (AIP) and analyze financial aid
appeals for sufficient documentation and AIP completion. Understand and adhere to
regulatory standards in compliance with federal, state,
and institutional requirements. Participate in periodic trainings and educational
offerings to maintain current basic financial aid
policy.

Provide support and assist with general student services office operations
at the direction of the campus student services
office/operations, including but not limited to campus events, local needs/operations,
community activities, athletics, business processes,
etc.


While adhering to Tuition office and Business Office standards, perform
clerical functions for campus students, the Business
Office, and non-credit students seeking assistance on campus. Accept payments for other
departments, make deposits for clubs and
departments, manage reimbursements of overpayments, recover receipts, accept payments for various
college systems and services, and balance
and close cash box and prepare deposits.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Two years experience in recruitment, promotions, admissions,
    financial aid, advising, registration, or
    related experience in an educational setting.
  • Or Associate’s Degree with six years of
    experience in recruitment, promotions,
    admissions, financial aid, advising, registration, or related experience in an educational
    setting.
  • Strong communication
    skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish
    and maintain a professional working
    relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from varied backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of
    current software applications.

Desired Qualifications


  • Experience in an educational institution preferably
    in student
    services.
  • Knowledge of educational databases (Banner, PeopleSoft, Colleague, etc.)
  • Experience with data analysis
    and
    reporting.
  • Ability to speak and understand a language in addition to English.
  • Experience with customer relationship
    systems
    (CRM Recruit, Salesforce, Slate, Starfish, etc.)
