Department: College of Law Dean
Job Summary
Leads the development, maintenance, assessment, and growth of all components of the Center. Plans all Leadership and Law forums, symposia, and conferences, develops opportunities for expansion of student leadership and experiential learning, and partners to integrate leadership education across the College of Law (LAW) curriculum. Responsible for the administrative functions of the Center, including finance and budget, fund development, publications, communications, programs and assistance for students, and other programmatic activities. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree.
- Two (2) years of experience in legal education, leadership development, public policy, or a related academic or professional field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in program development, administration, and external relations.
- Experience with fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.
- Experience working in a higher educational environment.
- Experience with providing oversight and transactional level support, such as training and developing strong-performing teams e.g., cross-training, professional development, transition planning, skill development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of legal education structure, curriculum design, and experiential learning models e.g., clinics, externships, internships.
- Knowledge of student development principles and best practices in professional mentorship and career preparation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Skilled in project management, problem-solving, decision-making, analysis, communication, follow-through, influence, and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution-minded with a global perspective.
- Ability to work in cooperation with other team members to achieve goals and objectives.
- Ability to take ownership of projects, anticipate department needs and develop appropriate responses, meet deadlines, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and be a quick and continuous learner.
- Ability to be detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workloads based on available resources and respond to changing circumstances.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
