Director of Emergency Management

Primary Purpose of the Position:
The position’s primary purpose is to coordinate all emergency preparedness and response planning efforts for the Winston-Salem State University campus. The position will streamline emergency planning efforts across University departments and colleges, culminating in a single point of reference for disseminating this information. It will assist in developing new policies and revising existing policies to meet the current emergency planning needs of University settings. The position will serve as a liaison and coordinate with essential administration and departments across the campus and University of North Carolina General Administration, organizations throughout the local municipalities, Forsyth County, and the State to achieve and maintain campus disaster readiness.

Preferred Years Experience,Skills, Training , Education:

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Emergency Management, Planning, Communications, Emergency Services, Business or Public Administration, or related field.
• License or Certification Desired: ICS 300, 400 certification & NCEM Executive Emergency Manager
