Job Summary

  • The post holder will be responsible for supporting, maintaining,
    and enhancing core applications used throughout the university. This role combines front-end and back-end development skills to create
    robust, user-friendly, and scalable solutions that meet the university’s needs.

Candidate Profile

Responsibilities



1.1 Collaborate with stakeholders, including faculty, staff, administrators, and students, to
gather requirements and understand their needs for web and software applications.


1.2 Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web
applications, ensuring high-quality code, optimal performance, and excellent user experience.



1.3 Develop and implement new features
and functionalities for existing applications, as well as create new applications from scratch.


1.4 Collaborate with UI/UX designers
to create visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces.



1.5 Build efficient and scalable back-end systems, including databases,
APIs, and server-side components.


1.6 Integrate front-end and back-end components, ensuring seamless data flow and system
interoperability.



1.7 Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications, identifying and resolving any issues or bugs.


1.8 Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, considering factors such as caching, code optimization, and database
performance.



1.9 Stay updated on emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices in full-stack development, recommending
innovative solutions to enhance the university’s digital capabilities.


1.10 Participate in the development and enforcement of best
practices, standards, and policies related to core application management and development.



Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven
    experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong portfolio of web and software applications.
  • Proficiency in front-end
    technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, PHP, ASP.Net.
  • Strong knowledge of database systems, SQL (MS SQL Server), and ORM frameworks (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Understanding of responsive design
    principles and mobile-first development approaches.
  • Strong knowledge in architectural design patterns such as MVC
    framework/architecture.
  • Knowledge of web security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
  • Experience with API development and integration, including RESTful APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a
    focus on attention to detail.
  • Experience working with on-premises environments.
  • Experience working with mobile
    applications development is a plus.
