join our team as a part-time General Assistant/Program Coordinator for the department and one of our grant-funded
programs.

Responsibilities:

The
Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering Information and Technology is seeking a motivated
individual to join our team as a General Assistant/Program Coordinator to support the department and one of our grant-funded programs.


Position is part-time (19.5 hours per week). Position requires in-person work on the UMBC campus. Hours are Monday – Friday during
standard business hours. Flexible schedule available.

In this role, you will support faculty members, students and staff with a
variety of essential tasks, including:


  • Coordinating program events and activities

  • Organizing the
    application process


  • Participating in the application review process

  • Monitoring program expenditures,
    including scholar tuition remission and stipend distribution


  • Administering scholars’ professional development funds

  • Developing and distributing marketing materials for the SFS and DOD CySP programs


  • Serve in office as the front
    desk point of contact
  • Answer phones, email and respond to general inquiries
  • Assist with office supplies inventory,
    ordering, restocking, and distribution
  • Maintain the department calendars
  • Coordinate mail and packages for delivery and
    pick up
  • Monitor room access requests and permissions
  • Monitor conference room schedules and assist with reservations
  • Coordinate room readiness including seating, resets and materials
  • Posts announcements as directed
  • General in office
    duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience in administrative/clerical, customer support, or related area.
  • Proficient with computers and basic office
    technology
  • Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in
    procurement or related areas
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools
  • Customer service-oriented with a positive approach to
    working with students

Salary:

Hourly Salary Range: Minimum: $19 to Maximum: $25, commensurate with qualifications and
experience.


The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible
compensation at the time of posting.


Hours: Part time (19.5 hours)

Additional Information: This is a temporary position. Initial contract is for 1 year with the possibility of
renewal.
