Requirements



NQF Level 8 in Finance Management, Economics, Business Management and Accounting.
NQF level 9 in Finance Management, Economics, Business Management and Accounting will serve as an added advantage.
Professional accounting designation such as CA(SA), or CIMA.
8 – 10 years of experience in financial strategy, implementing financial sustainability initiatives.
At least 5 years in a senior leadership or executive finance role.
Experience in strategic planning, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance management.
Experience presenting financial strategies to executive committees or Boards.
Experience working with senior stakeholders.
Experience in both non-profit and/or corporate financial strategy.
Understanding of financial sustainability frameworks.
Understanding of the tourism and conservation industry.
Knowledge of with regulatory developments and sustainable finance instruments.
Knowledge of South Africa’s public finance and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all five pillars of the FSS (Revenue Generation, Operational Efficiency, Sustainable Investing, Mobilising/Diversifying Funding, Alternative Funding) are implemented in a coordinated manner.
Develop a comprehensive FSS implementation plan, outlining timelines, responsibilities, resource requirements, and key milestones to ensure coordinated execution across all divisions.
Track progress on key initiatives across divisions, identifying bottlenecks, overlaps, and gaps.
Develop and maintain a central dashboard/reporting mechanism for FSS operationalisation, providing real-time insights to the CFO and executive team.
Facilitate cross-divisional alignment and prioritisation of FSS initiatives to achieve Vision 2040 outcomes and MLL priorities.
Establish governance structures for oversight of FSS initiatives.
Define and track KPls that measure the impact of FSS initiatives.
Monitor performance, financial risks, and investment outcomes.
Provide regular strategic reports and recommendations to the CFO, Exco and Board
Liaise with internal divisions and external partners to maintain FSS alignment.
Represent SANParks in strategic forums relevant to the implementation of the FSS.
Ensure operationalisation of FSS contributes to Vision 2040, MLLs, and institutional priorities.
Advise on organisational resource allocation and long-term financial resilience.
Identify opportunities for innovative funding mechanisms, partnerships, and investment models.
Support divisions in building capacity and knowledge required to implement the initiatives in the FSS.



Please Note

The remuneration package includes an all-inclusive Cost-to-Company salary based on salary scale of Paterson E3 job grade, along with applicable allowances, and benefits as specified in the SANParks Conditions of Service.
