Job Description

The Infrastructure Field Technician is responsible for the hands-on installation, maintenance, and support of physical security systems infrastructure and integrated devices. This role supports daily operations, service requests, and project implementations across campus environments, ensuring reliable performance and adherence to standards.

Knowledge, skills and abilities


  • Familiarity with cabling systems, access control, and video surveillance technologies.
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings and follow installation plans.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Special licenses, registration or certification

Valid Driver’s license with insurable driving record.

Level and type of experience

  • Working experience in physical infrastructure installation and maintenance.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)


  • Experience in campus or institutional environments.
  • Certifications or training in cabling systems or physical security technologies.

Conditions of Employment

This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.



Employees are considered essential personnel and subject to working during university closings.

There will be some after hours on-call responsibilities associated with this position.


Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: Salary range between $ – $50,000-$59,431
