The Nurse Practitioner delivers walk-in health services to students at Carroll College.

Responsibilities:

• Provides primary medical care and treatment to students within the University community.
• Conducts patient assessments, obtains medical histories, and performs physical examinations.
• Diagnoses acute and chronic health conditions and develops appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribes medications, orders diagnostic testing, and manages follow-up care.
• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Educates patients on diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventive health practices.
• Makes referrals to specialists and outside providers when clinically appropriate.
• Interprets and communicates laboratory and diagnostic test results to patients.
• Promotes public health initiatives through patient education and community outreach.
• Maintains accurate and compliant medical documentation in accordance with professional standards.
• Suggests campus services, i.e., counseling, to students exhibiting need
• Performs basic lab tests and TB skin testing
• Maintains student health records and ensures compliance with applicable laws,

regulations, and clinical protocols governing advanced practice nursing

• Assists in supervising student workers
• Assists in ordering and maintaining supplies and medications
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• MS degree with current RN, APNP license/prescriptive authority, and NP certification by ANCC
• Minimum two years advanced practice nursing experience preferably in family practice or urgent care setting

Technology Skills:

• Basic computer familiarity

Human Relations Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively with college students and Carroll community colleagues.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.

Compliance:

• Employees may be required to report violations of law under Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). If this position is identified a Campus Security Authority (Clery Act), you will be notified and provided resources for reporting. The Clery Act requires all prospective employees be notified of the availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety report. Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to Public Safety and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
