The Senior Patient Representative is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committed
professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary,
comprehensive approach. This senior patient representative position resides within the Health Center for Student Care and reports to the
Director of Operations and Auxiliary Services. The individual serving in this role is responsible for front desk operations and supporting
health insurance waiver program.
The senior patient representative contributes substantially to the ongoing integrity of clinic
operations.
This position provides leadership and supervision of front desk patient representatives and greats patients and visitors
upon arrival, enters and verifies insurance information, answers phones, schedules appointments, checks out patients after their visit, and
provides excellent customer service. The Senior Patient Representative is responsible for coordination of patient care and collaborates with
nurses and providers to maintain a consistently high standard of care.

Responsibilities
- Knowledge of
third-party billing and insurance - Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and
database systems - Proficient in all use of software and hardware necessary for front desk operations
- Ability to maintain a
professional manner in a patient care environment - Ability to working cooperatively and effectively with a diverse population and
colleagues - Competence of carrying out responsibilities independently
- Ability to supervise, lead, and motivate others
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed
Qualifications
- High School diploma or
equivalent - Five years of previous administrative, clerical or customer service experience
- Partial college
education or more - 1 year of medical office experience
- Five years of previous administrative or clerical experience in a
healthcare setting.
