Job
Description

The Financial Services Counselor provides direct support to students and families by delivering high-quality
counseling and customer service related to financial aid and student billing. This role involves guiding students through the financial aid
process, assisting with billing inquiries and payment options, and serving as a knowledgeable resource while providing general customer
service at the front desk. The counselor also represents the office at outreach events and contributes to educational efforts that promote
financial literacy and access.



Key Responsibilities

Financial Aid & Billing
Counseling


  • Advise students and families on financial aid eligibility, application procedures, award packages, and
    related policies
  • Assist with student billing inquiries, explain charges, and present payment plans and financial resources
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations in the review and processing of aid applications

Outreach & Financial Education

  • Represent the office at campus and community events, including
    orientations, financial aid nights, and information sessions
  • Lead or support presentations and workshops focused on financial
    literacy, FAFSA completion, and billing topics

Front Desk Coverage


  • All Financial Services
    Counselors will rotate throughout the week to cover phone, email and walk-in traffic
  • This position serves as the first point of
    contact for students, families, and campus partners at the front desk


General Support

  • Respond to
    inquiries via phone, email, and in person with accuracy, professionalism, and empathy
  • Triage questions and direct more complex
    issues to the appropriate staff when needed
  • Perform related duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with other campus departments
    to promote student access and success


Shift

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; with some Saturday
events

Minimum Qualifications


A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring
Range



The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.87-$20.00 hourly.

Salary is
determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and
experience, as well as organizational requirements.
