Key Responsibilities


The Minnesota Council on Economic Education, embedded in the Department of Applied Economics at the UMN seeks to hire a casual, nonexempt employee for the purpose of providing strategic advice and work on special projects. This work will focus on the following areas:

  • Assisting in the design and implementation of legislation campaigns
  • Providing strategic advice regarding outreach to other economic and financial literacy education stakeholders in Minnesota
  • Providing leadership, management, development and/or programming advice as desired by the Executive Director


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience in education.
  • Extensive experience in nonprofit management and external and government relations.

About the Department


The Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE) is located in the Department of Applied Economics, a department within the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. MCEE is an entrepreneurial non-profit organization (501c3) with a mission to equip Minnesotans with the economic and personal financial understanding needed to succeed in today’s complex economy. MCEE accomplishes this mission by developing and delivering professional development courses and workshops for K-12 teachers, providing direct programs to K-12 students, and working with community agencies in personal finance education for adults. This position will provide strategic advice and work on special projects for the Executive Director or Council.


Pay and Benefits


Pay Range: $50.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
