Department: Bursars
Job Summary
Handles customer service, payment processing, holding account entries, and third-party transactions. Prepares student documents and processes requests received by the Bursar’s office timely. Applies payments to appropriate accounts in alignment with CSU policies/procedures. Collaborates with Bursar staff to achieve departmental goals while maintaining professional interactions with all internal and external stakeholders. Performs other functionally related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, accounting, finance, education administration, or related field.
- Two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Related work experience may be substituted for educational requirement. One (1) year of related work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a high school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent and four (6) years of experience can be eligible to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education Bursars or Financial Aid setting.
- Experience with cash management, internal controls and auditing.
- Experience working with ERP software.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to incorporate principles of professionalism and teamwork at all organizational levels within CSU.
- Detail oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze and organize information, have effective project, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to exercise good judgment involving fiscal operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel (advanced knowledge), Outlook and PowerPoint
