Summer Network Operations Assistant

General Scope of Duties
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, this position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, and installation of the college’s wired and wireless infrastructure. The position will work with team members to help maintain network infrastructure, firewalls and VPN.

General Duties and Responsibilities
The Position will assist with several responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Assist engineers with installation of routers, switches, wireless APs.
• Work with engineers in basic troubleshooting of data networking issues.
• Participate in change controls related to data network.
• Create network documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and help gather business requirements.
• Work with vendors on open trouble tickets to resolve production issues.
• Assist with ongoing network operations audits.
• Design and implement small branch office LAN/WAN.
