Job Description:


Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by providing inventory support to the Uniform Store.


This is a 40 hour per week and 52 weeks per year 1.0 FTE position.


Essential Functions

  1. Physically organizes and accounts for all issued uniform inventory.
  2. Accurately records inventory counts and calculated totals for purposes of ordering and auditing.
    1. Delegates tasks related to inventory stocking, counting, and organizing to student workers.

  3. Keeps coatee and tunic inventory tracking up to date.
    1. Inventories new coats as they come in.
    2. Decommissions coats and updates inventory.

  4. Tracks trends in sizes and amounts to prepare accurate orders for Uniform Store Manager to place.
  5. Runs the on-line store on Ecwid.
  6. Assists in fitting and issuing of cadet uniforms at critical times of the year, as well as clerking in the store when staffing is low.
  7. Assists with setting up, restocking, and taking down Rook Uniform Issue.
  8. Assists with other Uniform Store tasks as needed under the direction of the Uniform Manager.

  1. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information.
  2. Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.
  3. Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.
  4. Speaks, reads, and writes in English.
  5. Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.
  6. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or equivalent coursework preferred.
  • Detail oriented and able to gather, process, and interpret data
  • Excellent math skills are needed.
  • Valid driver’s license (must be comfortable driving a pick-up truck or U-Haul and travel outdoors to various parts of the campus)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook)
  • Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, climb stairs, and manipulate related equipment; lift 25 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus
  • Able to work two weekends a year (Rook Issue and Graduation)

Environmental Conditions


  • Indoor work in retail setting and at a computer workstation. And some outdoor work.
  • Medium level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations.
