Position Description
Manages a unit within a
department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and
others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

About the Department and/or College

Major/Essential Functions
Coordinate all
scheduling related to performances, masterclasses, special events, and ad hoc internal bookings.
Maintain performance calendar in Ad
Astra, Calendarwiz, and Outlook. Ensure marketing and recording staff are kept up to date on all relevant events.



Recruit, train, and
supervise a group of student workers to serve as stage crew for events in all regular performance venues.

Oversee program preparation
by teaching assistants for all small to medium events. Prepare programs for large events.



Serve as the point of contact at all School
of Music events at external venues. Communicate and confirm all scheduling and production needs.

Serve as the on-site Stage Manager
for all School of Music performances at Buddy Holly Hall. 5% In collaboration with the Building and Equipment Manager, coordinate the
load-in/load-out, setup, and hall preparation activities for all regular performance venues.



Coordinate with the Building and
Equipment Manager and Piano Tuner to monitor the condition of all performance hall systems and resident instruments in all regular
performance venues to ensure they function properly.

Be knowledgeable in the operation of all auxiliary systems (lighting, acoustical
adaptation, and sound enforcement) used in all regular performance venues.


Work with instructional personnel, performers, and
directors to adapt performance spaces to varying needs.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus three years
supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.


Preferred
Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail
    and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and deal with difficult
    situations
  • Performance production experience.
  • Music experience preferred.

Pay Range
$40,500 – $52,600 –
$64,800
