Description Summary
The Utility Custodian keeps the college buildings in a clean and sanitary condition. Creates and
maintains safe, clean, and inviting campuses for students, employees and the public.
Minimum
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of work experience in
cleaning and/or custodial services. - Good working knowledge of housekeeping and general maintenance procedures.
- Ability to
work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
* Two (2)
years of work experience in cleaning and/or custodial services.
Essential Duties
Essential Duties
and Responsibilities: include the following along with other duties as needed.
* Check, restock, and clean restrooms.
*
Sweep, scrub, mop and spot clean.
* Use emergency clean-up kits to clean up bodily fluids as needed.
* Clean lobbies, lounges,
corridors, elevators, stairways, classrooms.
* Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
* Dust furniture. Clean walls
(wallpaper and painted), ceiling, and woodwork. Wash windows, door panels, and thresholds.
* Empty wastebaskets.
* Keep outside
entrances clean (remove leaves and dirt, clean windows, remove trash and debris).
* Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
*
Unstop toilets and water fountains and perform minor plumbing procedures.
* Spread ice melt and remove snow, as needed.
* Maintain
cleaning equipment, supplies, & products
* Be willing to adapt to the needs of the college.
* Basic computer knowledge to complete
training, work orders, etc.
* Uniform and personal appearance kept clean and professional.
* Meet the required standards of the
college and within the set time limits.
* Ensure security of assigned master key
* Attend specialized training activities that enhance
performance.
* Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
* Other duties as assigned.
