ABOUT THE POSITONThe
teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Trade, Technology and Community Learing campus or other college teaching
locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions
are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a
diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. As one of the most diverse community college districts in southern

Duties

The

    adapt teaching pedagogy to the knowledge of each individual and class.
  • Ability to self-reflect and respond to an evidence-based
    assessment of student learning.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to integrating new technologies into the learning process,
    including but not limited to interactive technologies for on campus and on-line courses.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally
    and in writing.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree to teach
    any master’s level discipline in which learning assistance or tutoring is provided, which includes the following disciplines, accounting,
    allied health, art history, biological science, business, child development, computer science, dietetics, English, foreign language,
    history, humanities, mathematics, music, nursing, philosophy, physical science, social science; OR,
  • Master’s degree
    in education, educational psychology, instructional psychology or creative writing, or other Master’s degree with emphasis in adult learning
    theory; OR
  • The equivalent

AND
Evidence of sensitivity, understanding, and ability to
manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic,
cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recent community college or
    lower division teaching experience.
  • Expertise in Mathematics and Statistics.
  • Experience working with unprepared or
    underprepared students
  • Knowledge of or experience with innovative teaching practices
