Responsibilities:
Provides reliable, secure,
innovative, and customer-oriented information technology services and solutions to students, faculty, staff, and
other members of the
institutional community. This position ensures the institution’s computer systems, servers, and networking
infrastructure operate reliably,
securely, and efficiently, aligning with the institution’s operational needs and strategic objectives. The
Network Systems Administrator
serves as a first-tier technical administrator for hardware, operating systems, and network management. This
role assists in implementing,
supporting, and maintaining enterprise networks and communications systems, aiding in the management and
integration of voice, data, and
video networking technologies. Job responsibilities contribute to the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency
of institutional services and
technology. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Network Services using
specialized tools, job experience, and
established standards.
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology, or Electronic Engineering or related field. Bachelor’s Degree
preferred. Two or more years of directly related work experience
with databases and networks is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess excellent
verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, end-users, and
stakeholders across
departments. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with demonstrated proficiency in prioritizing and
managing multiple
projects and tasks simultaneously. Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and respond effectively to unexpected
demands throughout the
workday. Skilled in diagnosing and resolving technical issues promptly and effectively. Strong commitment to customer
service, with a
people-first mindset and the patience, attentiveness, and resourcefulness required to support a diverse range of user needs.
Ability to work
collaboratively as part of a team, sharing creative ideas and best practices, and supporting colleagues to achieve
departmental and
institutional objectives. Proficiency with databases, networking, and system security, including knowledge of data backup
and recovery
methods. Strong understanding of various operating systems, platforms, and enterprise environments. Skilled in the use of PC
and relevant
software applications, audio/visual equipment, and common productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation
applications). Strong critical thinking abilities, attention to detail, and a results-oriented approach to problem-solving. Ability to
clearly explain technical concepts to users of varying skill levels.
