The department coordinates parking and transportation
activities with campus events, daily operations, and shuttle routes. Departmental work includes parking coordination, shuttle operations,
and daily transportation support.
Job Description
- Operate a 15-passenger van safely
and in accordance with university policies and local traffic laws - Drive established shuttle routes and provide timely transport
between designated campus locations and nearby destinations - Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with passengers at all
times - Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions
- Report any vehicle
maintenance needs, incidents, or concerns to the Transportation Office promptly - Maintain accurate trip logs, passenger counts, and
fuel usage records - Assist passengers with mobility needs, including loading and unloading when necessary
- Follow proper
procedures for emergency situations and ensure passenger safety in the event of a breakdown or accident - Support campus events by
providing shuttle service as needed during special programming or extended hours - Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the
vehicle interior and exterior - Adhere to all university policies and procedures, including those related to safety, conduct, and
customer service
Minimum Qualifications * A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and
experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Ability
to read and write.
* One year experience in driving appropriate size vehicle.
* Skill in the safe and efficient operation of
appropriate size vehicle.
* Knowledge of state and local laws governing the operation of motor vehicles.
* Ability on a daily basis to
lift moderately heavy objects (25-50 lbs.)
* A valid state driver’s license is required.
* Drivers, who operate buses or large
trucks, are required to have a valid “Class E” Commercial Driver’s License.
Anticipated Hiring Range
The
anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $17.00 hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors,
including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational
requirements.
