Job Summary

Support Students Through Accurate Financial Services and Exceptional Customer Service


The University of Kentucky is seeking an Accounting Coordinator Senior to join Student Account Services within University Financial Services.

This position sits at the intersection of student financial services, regulatory compliance, and customer support, helping students and families navigate tuition, fees, payments, and student loan responsibilities while ensuring compliance with university and federal requirements.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide front-line support to students, parents, and campus partners regarding student accounts, tuition, fees, and loan programs
  • Respond to inquiries through phone, email, and in-person interactions while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Interpret and apply federal regulations, university policies, and financial aid requirements
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to student loans, receivables, and account activity
  • Process payments, fee adjustments, appeals, refunds, and other account transactions
  • Monitor and support student loan compliance activities, including counseling and reporting requirements
  • Assist with collections efforts and payment arrangements for past-due accounts
  • Participate in process improvements and special projects that enhance service and operational efficiency

Minimum Requirements

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Strong verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills; teamwork; problem resolution; attention to detail/accuracy; and high level customer service orientation. Knowledge of the SAP operating system and student loan programs is preferred; strong background working with Microsoft Office.
