Position
Description

Performs manual work in the operation of heavy, medium, and light mobile equipment, and the maintenance of all such
equipment pertaining to assigned area. Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations
are responsibilities of all employees.

About the Department and/or College


Major/Essential Functions

  • Assist in installation and
    maintenance of signs, barricades, fences and irrigation systems, including digging lines, replacing heads and valves.
  • Provide proper
    upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
  • Perform related work as
    required.
  • Report hazards such as broken limbs, uneven walks, holes in turf areas, broken benches, etc. Erects barricades around
    hazard areas.
  • Mow, edge and trim turf areas, collect debris daily, weed planting beds, water trees, shrubs, flowers and turf areas,
    spread sand, remove snow and ice from walkways.
  • Plants trees, shrubs, ground cover an annual flowers, using proper horticultural
    techniques.
  • Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.

Required
Qualifications

Eighth grade education or equivalent plus two years related experience in the operation of medium mobile equipment.
Commercial drivers license or willingness to obtain such a license. Additional job related experience may substitute on a year-by-year basis
for required education as long as applicant possesses desired reading and writing skills.



This position requires eligibility to drive
TTU vehicles, including a valid U.S. driver license and two years of driving experience.

Preferred
Qualifications


  • Commercial driver’s license preferred, ability to obtain CDL within time limitation.
  • Ability to understand
    and follow both oral and written instructions.


Pay Range
$14.04 – $18.27 – $22.45
