Florida A&M
University’s College of Education is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Office Manager
vacancy.

Responsibilities


The
incumbent will be responsible for performing secretarial and clerical duties for the College of Education. Responsibilities include managing
procurement processes, including creating purchase requisitions, submitting invoices, ordering office supplies, contracting services, and
handling property control tasks for the department.

Prepare correspondence, memorandums, reports, meeting agendas,
course syllabi, and evaluations; Set up and maintain confidential files, as well as paper and electronic filing systems, for faculty and
student records; Assist students with registration questions; The incumbent will direct questions to the appropriate departments for prompt
assistance and will open, read, route, and distribute incoming mail and other materials accordingly; Serve as the Travel Representative,
creating travel authorizations (TAs), expense reports (ERs), and cash advances (CAs) for the College; and additional duties may be assigned
as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalency and five years of related experience; or a combination of post high school
education and experience equal to five years.

Knowledge of academic resources available to students;


Ability to
communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;

Knowledge of office practices, procedures and
etiquette;


Ability to priortize, organize and perform multiple work assignments;

Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationship; and,


Proficient in Microsoft
Office.


Pay Plan

This is an USPS
(University Support Personnel System) position.

Employment


Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of
criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other
educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.

Section 110.1128, Florida Statutes, prohibits employment by the State (including re-hire after a break in
service) of any male born after October 1, 1962, who failed to register with the Selective Service System, under the provisions of the U.S.
Military Selective Service Act, during the person’s period of eligibility (ages 18 through 25). Additionally, if currently employed by the
State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person. You may be required to provide
documentation.
