Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Farm Supervisor II for the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES). This position is for a working Supervisor.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Manages and cares for of all the agricultural animals on the Cook Campus farm, including the production herds of cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and poultry as well as three distinct non-production horse herds.
- Coordinates animal needs for research, teaching and outreach between the University faculty, undergraduate courses and outreach programs for the University.
- Performs record keeping and reporting of daily animal care in accordance with University policies as required by the University Animal Care & Use Committee.
- Coordinates equipment needs with peer Research Farm Supervisors.
- Supervises full-time employees of the Animal Care Program.

Minimum Education and Experience
- B.S degree plus 2-year’s experience working with agricultural animals or an equivalent combination of experience and/or related college-level course work may be substituted for the above experience.
Equipment Utilized
- Agricultural tractor and implements including, manure spreader, mower, brush hog mower, skid steer loader, truck and trailer.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- The work environment is a 125-acre livestock farm.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.
