Position Summary

Parking Enforcement Specialists are responsible for patrolling campus parking lots and garage to ensure compliance with college parking rules and regulations providing safe and accessible parking to students, faculty/staff, volunteers, and visitors. This position serves as a college ambassador, enhancing the customer’s parking and campus experience by providing excellent customer service to the Morehouse community.



Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or combination of experience and education.


License Requirement: Candidate is required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record. The individual is expected to be able to drive a campus vehicle while on campus.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location’s hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift and/or events held on weekends may be a requirement.

Preferred Education/Experience

High School Diploma or combination of experience and education.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


1. Patrol and resolve parking or traffic concerns within all surface parking lots and parking structure on the Morehouse campus enforcing the College’s parking rules and regulations by issuing citations and/or boots for non-compliance.



2. Practice positive public relations with students, faculty/staff, guest, and visitors by answering questions and providing general information about the campus and surrounding area.


3. Assist in the collection of parking field data for annual lot inventories and utilization surveys.



4. Perform traffic control duties by directing traffic flow within established and overflow parking lots. Assist with installing and retrieving appropriate barricades in preparation for events, when necessary.


5. Perform simple vehicle maintenance procedures such as checking oil and gas and report mechanical problems to Parking Manager.



6. Observe and report hazardous conditions such as missing traffic and parking signs, and traffic lights out.


7. Train new or temporary employees in proper work procedures assigned to his/her area.
